Remember when I crashed to the pavement in Borneo? Well I’ve lived in pain and tried to work through it but finally gave up. The photo above, left, shows what a badly torn Rotator Cuff looks like. On the right is what the fix looks like including titanium screws.
Initially Dr. Mazurek thought the damage and aging couldn’t be repaired. Once in side he decided to stretch the tear, insert screws, pull the tenden down and suture it.
Pain, you betcha! But, in 3 months I may be almost like new again. Thanks Doc.
This was the first time we’ve been together with our little family for more than 4 months. Lots to talk about. At top left, our daughters, Lori and Stephanie. Top right, 3 generations, Stephanie, Aubrie and Grandma Judy.
We partied with family including Steph’s guy John. A great evening of chit chat and sushi. The only missing ingredient was the Graduate, Timothy. He went off to party all night with his classmates.
Timothy’s Graduation from High School was held in the stadium. More than 400 graduates. We were really pleased and proud that he was one of them. He was struggling but pulled it together and made the GRADE!
Tall and handsome, he’s decided to attend our community College next year.
The 2:15 PM arrival left us with just enough time to get through Immigration and Customs, rent a van, load bikes and bags and make a mad dash to Ventura for Patrick’s Jr. High School Graduation.
He’s the bright but quiet grandson and my namesake. We pulled in too late for a seat but were able to witness his crossing of the stage to receive his diploma.
We chided him about the length of his hair then he proudly opened his year book to the page where a girl swooned over it.
Our flight departed promptly at 4:15 PM, June 9, 2009 from Hong Kong. Neither of us could sleep. Cat watched 5 movies. 13 hours later we arrived “on time” in Los Angeles at 2:15 PM, June 9, 2009. AMAZING!
It was a little hazy which added a slight gloom to The Peak. The best is the ride up and back down on the Cable Car. Most of the rest is just for tourism. You even have to pay extra to get to the roof top.
It’s called the Avenue of the Stars. Similar to Hollywood’s walk of stars except the stars are all Asian. Of course we had to strike poses.
We call her pose “Action”. Mine is “Gettin’ my Kicks” with Bruce Lee.
WOW, California Pizza Kitchen, one of our favorites. We enjoyed a view of the harbor and PIZZA, too.
The beautiful old Penninsula Hotel. Cat’s mom & dad stayed there more than 50 years ago. Some things never change. It’s still one of the top rated hotels in the world.
